The Committee is asked to elect a Chair for the meeting.

It is drawn to the attention of members of the public and the press that the items listed below are considered to be exempt within the meaning of Schedule 12A to the Local Government Act 1972.  The Sub-Committee will be asked to pass a resolution, the effect of which is to exclude members of the public and the press from the remaining part of the proceedings. 

The Sub-Committee is asked to pass the following resolution:-

“THAT the press and public be excluded from the proceedings of the Audit and Corporate Governance (Performance Review) Sub-Committee on 30 July 2014 during consideration of items 7 and 8 on Part 2 of  the agenda, on the basis that, were members of the public to be present, there would be disclosure of exempt information as defined in Schedule 12A to the Local Government Act 1972, as amended”

Specifically -

Publicity in respect of Items 7 and 8 would be likely to lead to the disclosure of exempt information relating to Exempt Information Category 1 – Information relating to any individual. The reasons why the public interest favours withholding the information are that the release of such information discloses personal information to the public and could constitute or facilitate an interference with the individual’s right to respect for private and family life, their home and their correspondence.
