Purpose:

To consider approving the making permanent of the Camden Square Area Safe and Healthy Streets and "C50" cycle routes scheme, introduced via an Experimental Traffic Order in December 2021, and to consider additional changes to the permanent scheme and new safe and healthy streets measures in the area.

Decision:

Consideration was given to a report of the Directorof Environmentand Sustainability.

 

DECISION –

 

That the Cabinet Member for a Sustainable Camden, having considered the proposals in relation to the objectives set out in the Camden Transport Strategy, the public Consultation Summary Report (Appendix B), the Equalities Impact Assessment (Appendix C), the Strategic Policy Alignment (Appendix F) and having due regard to the needs set out in section 149 of the Equality Act 2010:

 

i)               approves the proposals to make the current trial Camden Square scheme permanent, and the implementation of the proposed additional measures, as set out in Section 2, subject to compliance with relevant statutory requirements;

 

ii)              delegates to the Chief Engineer the authority to take any further decisions relating to the detailed design and implementation of the approved scheme; and

 

iii)            delegates to the Director of Environment and Sustainability, in consultation with the Cabinet Member for a Sustainable Camden the authority to take any further decisions regarding any potential further changes to the scheme beyond the proposals approved in this report.
