This committee makes decisions on planning applications, and also on applications for listed buildings consent and conservation area consent. It also takes decisions on enforcement action where developments have taken place without permission.
However, it does not look at all applications that are received by the Council, as the Executive Director Supporting Communities has the power to make decisions on many types of applications under her delegated authority.
All meetings of the committee are webcast, which means they are broadcast live on the Council’s website. After the meeting, you can view the webcasts for six months.
The Committee meets every three weeks on a Thursday in the Council Chamber at the Town Hall, Judd Street. The meetings are open to members of the public.
For information on how to request to speak at a meeting of the Committee (known as making a deputation) or how to make a written submission, please see our Planning Committee deputation pages or the guidance notes on the agenda.
